LTM group project, week 2 Journal

Week 2 from 21/10/13-25/10/13 working on the ‘A long way to Tipperary’ story with Fiona’s group being one of the animators.

21/10/13-23/10/13
Started to put in the keyframes in for final scene (scene 10). Got a meeting with clients tomorrow at the London Transport Museum.

Screen-shot-2013-11-12-at-6.37.09-PM

23/10/13
Meeting was cancelled with the clients at the London Transport Museum, due to the client was ill. However, the client did e-mailed us on what to improve on from what they saw of the animatic. The client stated that they wanted more negative war stuffs on the animation such as death. Which, we as a team disagree, because the animation was suppose to be more of a comedy animation rather than death and being negative. So, Fiona e-mailed backed that this will not work, due to animation should be of a comedy and should stick to the original story, which they choose originally.

They e-mailed backed and agreed with our views, the only changes was the soldiers uniform. Currently they are dressed in their military finery, but in reality they would need to be in khaki army uniform so we will need to change midway through the animatic.

24/10/13
Continue adding the keyframes for scene 10. Also, I added in some of the lip syncing for the scene as-well.

Today we did a acting class with Ioli on Thursday. She was full of ideas for the project and made it much better. New additions and changes included the first scene between Jack and Jimmy in which Jimmy prods Jack; Jack dropping into shot. This will help we when I start drawing down the first scene.

25/10/13
Continue adding more keyframes for scene 10 and change some of the keyframes from yesterdays acting class with Ioli.

LTM group project, week 1 Journal

Week 1 from 14/10/13-18/10/13 working on the ‘A long way to Tipperary’ story with Fiona’s group being one of the animators.

15/10/13
We met with the clients at the London Transport Museum and it went well. The client wanted a few minor changes from Fiona concept such as making the Leicester Square sign looked more like from the signs of the first World War I and add more first World War British soldiers into the animation, apart form that everything is fine.

17/10/13
Today, we’ve adjust and added more images into Fiona’s animatic what the client have asked to do with their actions from Tuesday.

Also, we’re discussed what scenes we are doing, I am doing the first scene which is 10 seconds; and the tenth and final scene, which is 12 seconds long. Overall, I have 22 seconds to animate in a 85 second animation.

Scene 1: Jimmy and Jack talk to each other – Jimmy’s eyes throbbing, spit from his mouth as he speaks, in slow motion he says ‘five shillings’ – REASSIGNED TO JONATHAN ( I figured that Jonathan may aswell animate all scenes with these two characters as he is already doing the last one – plus he wanted to do this one.)

Scene 10: Jack on stage singing. We see Jimmy “The Lips” scowling up at him, his lip and eye throbbing. Jack waves his arms wide for the final “It’s a long, long way to Tipperary but my heart’s right there!” A thought bubble appears from Jimmy’s head, saying “It’ll never catch on.” – JONATHAN

18/10/13
We’ve finished off the improved animatic, added more images into the animatic to show the client on Wednesday (23/10/13)

Also, I open up Flash, to try to get hangaround of Fiona’s drawing style. By using some of the animatic sketches as reference to her style, so I can match the style.

Over the weekend I will starting doing the keyframes for Scene 10.

Game Over for now!

Unfortunately, non of my two concepts for each of the two projects for Liquid Architecture and London Transport Museum – Goodbye Piccadilly have been pick, so that means I am not leading either project. However, I am in someone’s group for the one of the LTM projects as an animator.

So always look on the bright side of life.

Concept art and Character designs for LTM and Liquid Architecture

Concept art and Character designs for forth coming LTM and Liquid Architecture projects, will be getting results on which project I am working on. But for now, the concept designs below.

Up and coming concepts for future projects

For the up and coming projects, I had to develop through the summer break two concepts for each of the two projects for Liquid Architecture and London Transport Museum – Goodbye Piccadilly, and if either clients idea one of my ideas, the concept will come to life, if not most likely be in someone’s group as an animator. So the ideas, starting with…

Liquid Architecture

Influence

My idea is influence by the declining of the City of Detriot, USA, which is currently bankrupt and mostly influence by Varasha, Famagusa in Northern Cyprus of now the abandoned of that part of Cyprus, after the civil war in 1974, when the country is stilt into two. And somebody dubbed the town as a ghost town.

Detriot, USA

Varasha, Cyprus

Concept

An architecture. Who is on holiday in a foreign country, in a town. The architecture saw an opening of a barb wire fence he craws into the hole, he enters an abandoned town. After the architecture looks around in amazed and shocked, he leaves the abandoned town he e-mails he architecture friends for ideas of a new town, goes to a meeting were the new town is approved of the concept. The story goes 15 years later of the new town, were the architecture is there.

How it will be made?

More than likely created in 2D, After Effects or Cell Action. But, if this was made in 3D, more than likely in Maya and would be the better option for this project.

London Transport Museum – Goodbye Piccadilly

Influence

My idea is influence by the research from the London Transport Museum the have given s research of the first world war. And I was influence by the audio of Anne Parker story with the B-Type bus.

Concept

Starts at a misty Piccadilly Circus, were you see Rose waiting for a bus going to Liverpool Street. Rose goes onto the B-Type bus, Rose goes onto the top level were she meets Anne the bus conductor. Then afterwards, they see a Zeppelin in the sky. The Zeppelin goes closer and closer to the bus, while the passengers are scared. Until, a Bristol M1c passes by and flew into the Zeppelin as it appears to be a cloud all along. The passengers are relaxed now, until a spot of rain appears. Rose gets to her destination and leaves the bus and Anne waves to Rose on the bus. Rose goes into the pub. While the bus oes into the sunset to conclude the story.

How it will be made?

More than likely to be created in Cell Action mainly. Also hand drawn and imported into photoshop to create the characters and passengers, and possibly After effects to create the finish product as-well.

More to explain in the next post soon.

Bye.

Upcoming projects

For two upcoming projects coming up, we are in stage of developing some early ideas, I am still developing the concept, here’s some sketches on what I may do for the forthcoming project, more to explain in a future post.

Sketch books/life drawing classes, 2012/13, year 1

During my first year on the MA Character Animation course, I have done a few life drawing classes through the last eight months from October 2012 to June 2013. I did not had the time to upload them during term time, mow I have time to spare, it is the right time to uploaded them.

Waterloo sketches exercises

This post should have been posted around six months ago, but I forgot to do so. So better late than later. Anyway, the class went to Waterloo Station (13\2\13), to do a few drawing exercises. The morning exercise was to draw one area of Waterloo station and draw five different sketches of different views inside the station.

Photo 13-02-2013 13 12 25

So therefore, I used the signboard above the centre of the station for my reference of the sketches below.

The afternoon session meanwhile, was to make a mini storyboard to create at least six sketches involving one person or more being in-an event that begins in Waterloo station and finishes outside by the river.

For that, I drawn down nine sketch to create my story with, which was a love story to find someone outside the South Bank Centre, were the story ends.

Final piece for BPMA

After weeks of researching and animating my final piece for the BPMA (British Postal Museum and Archive).

One big change was the audio for the animation. A few weeks back I had to change composer, due to scheduling problems. So I got a new composer and got the track down. But, the final piece had the sound effects remove due to it didn’t match up with the audio below and after a few times listening to it, I decided it to remove the sound effects.

For now, I won’t be uploading the animation for the moment, due to some technical problems. But for now here’s some screen-shots below.
